It is certainly not new that skins can be divided into a few main types. Oily, dry, normal, mixed, sensitive, and dehydrated. Find your type, so you’ll always know which treatment to choose.
And how to find out? We have prepared a super quick test for you in which you will find out your skin type and which products are perfect for you.
- How to recognize your skin type in two steps:
Wash your face with a mild cleanser, dry it, and leave it clean for half an hour, without using other products. - Then examine your face carefully. Are there dry spots or rather greasy areas? Or a combination of both? We tell you what you should know:
- If your skin feels tight, feels tight, or has dry patches on your face, especially on your cheeks, around your nose, and around your eyes, you probably have dry skin.
- If, right after you shower, your skin feels plump and glowing, and wrinkles have diminished, but you already need to rub off half an hour later, it means your skin is dehydrated.
- If your skin is red, itchy, or burning, you probably have sensitive skin. But be careful, sensitive skin can also be dry, oily or mixed.
- If you have dry patches on your skin and shine on your forehead, nose, and chin, then your skin is a combination.
- If you’re shiny all over and need to cleanse your face again, then you have oily skin.
- And if your skin looks great, doesn’t burn, isn’t too shiny, and doesn’t feel tight or dry, congratulations, you have normal skin.
Treatments for various skin types:
Dry Skin
Forget the light creams and gels. Dry skin lacks oil. What you need is to provide intense hydration and quality oils. Look for products that contain squalane or shea butter or ceramides.
Dehydrated Skin
If dry skin lacks oil, dehydrated skin will thank you for a large dose of water. For this reason, it looks great in humid environments such as the tropics or with steam. Choose products that contain ingredients that bind water by holding it to the skin. Hyaluronic acid and glycerin are excellent.
Sensitive Skin
Sensitive skin, which reacts by reddening quickly, for example to a change in the environment or the cream, needs the most delicate care. Add new products to your routine very carefully and gradually to quickly understand what’s not right for you.
Combination or Normal Skin
Combination skin is often the one that lives its life peacefully until an intensive (and incorrect) treatment has made it lose its balance. She tries, therefore, not to unnecessarily alter her or put too much weight on her and she will reward you.
Oily Skin
Oily skin in youth is annoying, but old age doesn’t seem to catch up with it. You look young for a long time and wrinkles don’t appear so easily. She forgets shea butter and cocoa butter and chooses light gels and creams. But she definitely needs to smear them.
